Kootenay Spotlight

Cranbrook Arts offers pottery and art classes for adults and youth several times a month, including weekly Open Studio – Workshop Wednesdays 12pm – 4pm. Visit their website at cranbrookarts.com to see all of their classes.

They are a not-for-profit organization and operate primarily from the generous donation of time, energy, and money from local individuals, sponsors, funders, and most importantly volunteers.

This month they would like to honour Geraldine “Gerry” Forget. Gerry passed away suddenly last year. She had begun a second career as an artist, which became her life’s passion. She worked in different mediums but was most fond of painting in watercolour and acrylic. Gerry attended countless art workshops and classes, and she became an active member of the arts community in Cranbrook and Kimberley.

Gerry’s family has donated her vast collection of art supplies and tools to the Cranbrook Arts Workshop. This donation has already made an incredible impact on the quality of art projects that we can provide for our community. Cranbrook Arts extends their deepest gratitude to the Forget family for this amazing donation.
